5 Toronto Plant-Based Restaurants on My Radar

Since switching to a (mostly) plant-based diet in the last few weeks, many provinces across Canada have started reopening & relaxing their COVID policies, Ontario included.

As a self-proclaimed foodie, my Google Maps is covered in green flag pins of restaurants I “want to try”. And for some people, the fact that I’m going plant-based seems restrictive.

How many of those will I have to take off my list now?

But I choose to look at this another way. Realistically, I was never going to get through all of the pins on my list. And now, the fact that I’m choosing plant-based/vegan restaurants (or restaurants that have plant-based/vegan-friendly menus) is just another qualifier for which of those “want to try” restaurants I’m actually going to try—plus add some new ones to my list!

Our first vegan restaurant outing was to La Bartola. Most everyone in Toronto knows about Planta, of course—that was the first vegan restaurant I ever tried.

We also have upcoming reservations in May to try Gia.

Here are 5 other Toronto restaurants that are on my “want to try” list.

Rosalinda

LOV

Parka

Fat Choi

Nabati

P.S. Bar Vegandale gets somewhat of an ‘honourary mention’ because one of my former roommates let me have a bite of her order once years ago, and I’ve been meaning to check it out myself ever since!
